Shri Sanjiv Nandan Sahai, Secretary (Power), GoI, Sh. Tanmay Kumar, Joint Secretary (Distribution, Hydro, Administration), MoP, Sh. Rohit Kansal,Principal Secretary (Power), UT of J&K and Sh. A.K.Singh, CMD NHPC visited CVPPPL Power Projects on 29th of October 2020. On their arrival, the dignitaries were received at the project site by senior Officers of NHPC, CVPPPL & UT and were welcomed with guard of honour by the CISF at Dul Dam. The team visited CVPPPL Projects and reviewed their progress. The dignitaries were briefed on the on-going status of construction works of PakalDul,Kiru and Kwar HE Projects by respective HOPs.
During his visit to PakalDul and Kiru H E Projects, Secretary (Power) took keen interest in the ongoing construction activities. He also participated in the ceremonial puja for commencing the concreting works at the Power house of 1000 MW PakalDul Project. The first blast for the construction of Main Access Tunnel (MAT) of 624 MW Kiru H E Project was set off by the Hon'ble Secretary (Power) himself. It was indeed a historic, momentous and memorable occasion for CVPPPL. Hon'ble Secretary (Power) appreciated the sincere, dedicated and committed efforts of CVPPPL employees in development of hydropower projects in such remote locations amid harsh climatic conditions and other logistic challenges.The dignitaries also made an aerial survey of Ratle, Kirthai-I, Kirthai-II and Bursar H E Projects.The dignitaries also planted saplings at the project site.
Appreciating the efforts of CVPP for starting the works amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the Union Secretary said that completion of these projects will not only add to the overall electricity generation by J&K but will also contribute immensely for the growth and development of Kishtwar and the UT and country as a whole. These power projects will also play vital role in providing Employment to the local people, he added.
